The winter in Bangladesh
The winter is the fifth of the seasons of Bangladesh. It comprises the months of Poush and Magh. It is the season of cold because its presents us fog, dew and cold.
Winter is the coldest of all the seasons in our country. Everywhere there is dense fog. The things around us cannot be seen clearly. It blows cold wind. People wear warm cloths. They do not want to get up in the morning leaving their warm quilt. They busk in the sun. The children make fire with straws and warm themselves, sitting around the fire. The mists gather dew drops upon the leaves of trees and grass and looks like pearls.
Plenty of vegetables, fishes, milk are available in this season. Housewives make varieties of ‘pithas’ in this season. The merriment of ‘Nabanna’ is seen everywhere. It is very testy to drink date juice in the winter morning. Muri, Chira, Khai, etc are available in every house.
There are some disadvantages too of the winter season. Poor people suffer much for the want of warm clothes. Nature looks dead and gloomy. People cannot go to their respective works in time.
